THE BIBLE IN THE NEWS
God is not a man, that
He should lie, Nor a son of man, that He should
repent; Has He said, and will He not do it? Or has
He spoken, and will He not make it good?
~ Numbers 23:19 ~ |
Let the reader
consider the following observation by Professor Phyllis Chesler
considered by Shofar staff in light of Scripture.
Ms. Chesler's observation
is excerpted from an article by her, Op-Ed: Jewish Athletes
Under Siege in Germany, that appeared in the August 6
edition of Arutz Sheva Internationalnews.com. (Please note that karma in its fullest sense is not a biblical
concept. Apparently, what Ms. Chesler had in mind is the
principle of sowing and reaping.) ~ Editor
Professor Chesler
"Fifteen years ago, when I began to focus on the
21st century rise of anti-Semitism,
anti-Americanism, and the nature of a "Perfect
Storm" alliance between a Western intelligentsia and
radical Islamists, I realized that Europe may be
reaping its terrible, karmic destiny. It perpetrated
a genocide upon six million assimilated,
non-violent, peaceful Semites (the Jews) and has now
inherited a whirlwind of millions of
non-assimilated, hostile, and violent Semites: the
illiterate, jihadist Muslims, who prey on their own
women and dissidents as well as on all infidels." |
The Scriptures
Do not be deceived,
God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, this
he will also reap.
~ Galatians 6:7 ~
For
they sow the wind and they reap the whirlwind.
The standing grain has no heads; it yields no
grain. Should it yield, strangers would swallow
it up.
~ Hosea 8:7 ~
God’s promise to Abraham concerning him and his
covenant line:
The one
who curses you I will curse.
~ Genesis 12:3 ~
God’s promise of curse for curse in kind (eye
for eye, tooth for tooth) for those who plunder
the tents of Jacob
(verse 18):
Therefore all who devour you will be devoured;
and all your adversaries, every one of them,
will go into captivity; and those who plunder
you will be for plunder, and all who prey upon
you I will give for prey.
~ Jeremiah 30:16 ~

in the New American Standard version.) |
